Erich Oese

Erich Oese (born September 3, 1926 in Radeberg ; † April 30, 2012 in Berlin ) was a German equestrian sport official and specialist equestrian author. He was the grandfather of vaulting expert Erik Oese (* 1987).

The teacher and certified interpreter had been involved in riding and driving since he was a teenager. After the Second World War he became Vice President in 1953 and President of the German Equestrian Sports Association of the GDR (DPV) in 1956 . He later headed the Scientific Center of the DPV. He also worked as an international judge in jumping and driving sports and as a course designer at international driving events . The performance test regulations of the GDR that he developed were similar to the federal German performance test regulations .

After the reunification in the GDR, Oese was appointed examiner for judges and trainers in Berlin-Brandenburg and Saxony in 1991. Until he was 80, Oese passed on his experience as coach A in his home club, the riding and driving club “Kleeblatt” Berlin, in Berlin-Malchow .

When Oese died in 2012, he was considered one of the “outstanding personalities of East German equestrian sport”.

Oese was the author of several books on running and equestrian sports, especially for Quadrille Riding , Vaulting , figure riding , two-horse riding and equestrian games .
