Erich Sedlak

Erich Sedlak (born January 8, 1947 in Vienna ; † May 17, 2018 there ) was an Austrian author and publisher .

Career

Sedlak spent his school days with the school brothers in Strebersdorf in Vienna. He then worked as a paper wholesaler in Wiener Neustadt . In 1972 he had first contact with the Wiener Neustädter authors Jeannie Ebner , Albert Janetschek, Peter Schuster , Peter Zumpf , Gotthard Fellerer . Sedlak is a co-founder of the “Wiener Neustädter Kreis”. Since 1995 he has worked exclusively as a writer and editor.

Sedlak writes satires, novels, thrillers, poems, plays, screenplays, radio plays, fairy tales, cabaret texts, short stories and essays. He works for radio (radio plays, radio stories, poetry broadcasts, cabaret broadcasts) and television (TV plays, scripts, cabaret broadcasts). Sedlak was the initiator and director of the Lower Austrian PEN Club's DVD series "Autorportrait" (70 DVDs) and editor of the PEN anthologies "Süchtig" (Residenzverlag) and "Literaturlandschaft" (Lower Austria Pressehaus). He is a member of the international and Austrian PEN -Club, Austrian writers' association, IG authors, cultural network Lower Austria and the literary group "podium". Sedlak has been Secretary General since 1994 and has been President of the Austrian PEN Regional Center in Lower Austria since 2004. He publishes in numerous anthologies and literary journals.

Sedlak is married and has two children from his first marriage. He lives in Wiener Neustadt as a freelance writer.
