Erich Strack

Erich Martin Emil Strack (born November 20, 1897 in Wollin ; † October 2, 1988 in Leipzig ) was a German physician and chemist .

Strack was director of the physiological-chemical institute at the University of Leipzig and a pioneer of carnitine research. In 1949 it was accepted as a full member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences . In 1952 he became a member of the Leopoldina . He was an honorary doctor from the universities in Leipzig and Rostock . His successor as institute director was Eberhard Hofmann .

Strack was married to Christa Gaul (* 1918) for the second time.
