Erich Vellmer

Erich Vellmer (born January 24, 1910 in Hoheneiche ; † November 19, 1990 in Kassel ) was a German theologian .

Live and act

Vellmer studied Protestant theology in Göttingen and Marburg and from 1936 was pastor in Solz (Bebra) and Kassel. During the Second World War he was a pastor on the Eastern Front. He belonged to the Confessing Church . Since 1957 as the prelate's deputy bishop, he was elected regional bishop of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck in 1963 . He held this office until 1978.

Vellmer was married and had two daughters.
