Life

Weferling attended elementary school and after self-study completed his Abitur in Hanover. Weferling studied for several semesters at the Technical University there and in Hamburg. His professional career initially led him from the insurance business to editorial work at the Hannoversche Kurier and was interrupted by the First World War; Weferling then worked as a financial expert in industrial companies before he retired in 1954. For reasons of age, he was spared participation in World War II . The creator of the planned language Intal got to know Esperanto at the age of 18 . He liked it in principle, but looked for further simplifications and subsequently dealt with Ido and Occidental before he presented his project Unesal-Interlingu in a 12-page brochure during the Ido World Congress in Kassel in 1923 . In 1925 (according to other information, 1948) Weferling created Panskrit . Intal (the abbreviation stands for International Auksiliari Lingue ) followed in 1956 in its first, in 1964 in the second, improved version. In total, Weferling published approx. 30 works resp. Expenses of the same, which he always relocated at his own expense. At the age of 87 he wrote his memoirs under the title Ek le vive de un oldi interlinguistiker - on Intal .
