Erich Wolfgang Partsch
Erich Wolfgang Partsch (born April 20, 1959 in Vienna ; † December 3, 2014 there ) was an Austrian musicologist .
Life
Erich Wolfgang Partsch trained as a guitarist at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Karl Scheit and studied musicology and pedagogy at the University of Vienna , where he wrote his dissertation on artificiality and manipulation: Studies on the genesis and constitution of " game opera "by Richard Strauss with special reference to" Silent woman " doctorate was. At that time he was teaching guitar (until 1989). From 1984 to 2005 he also taught at the Franz Schubert Conservatory . Since 1988 he has worked as a research assistant at the Anton Bruckner Institute Linz (ABIL), and later in the commission for music research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences . From 1990 Partsch worked as an employee and from 1996 as Vice President of the International Gustav Mahler Society (IGMG).
