Career

Erik Andersson began his career as a hockey player at Vallentuna BK , for whose professional team he made his debut in the then second-rate Division 1 in the 1988/89 season. After a season with their league rivals Danderyds HC , he ran for two years for AIK Solna in the Elitserien , for which he scored one goal and one assist in 35 games. In the 1991/92 season he was also on the ice for his ex-club Vallentuna BK, which in the meantime had been relegated to third-class Division 2. After a year outside of professional ice hockey, the winger attended the University of Denver from 1993 to 1997 and played for their ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Atletic Association .

In the 1997 NHL Entry Draft , Eriksson was selected in the third round as the 70th player of the Calgary Flames . Seven years earlier had him Los Angeles Kings in the NHL Entry Draft in 1990 drafted because he had signed but in the meantime in any NHL team, he could be re-elected. In the 1997/98 season , the Swede scored two goals and one assist in twelve games for the Calgary Flames. The rest of the season he spent, however, with their farm team , the Saint John Flames , in the American Hockey League . The following season he also began in Saint John, but signed after only five games with the Indianapolis Ice from the International Hockey League . From 1999 to 2001 he played again for two years in the Elitserien for his ex-club AIK Solna before ending his career at the age of 29.
