Erik Manouz

Erik Manouz (born February 16, 1978 in Berlin-Hermsdorf , common name: Erik Wisniewski ) is a German singer , guitarist , percussionist and composer .

Manouz played drums from an early age ; At the age of 12 he was inspired to play guitar by his brother two years older than him, with whom he also started his first music duo project. Already in his youth he wrote songs in German and English and has been working with his musician colleague Felix Meyer since they were at school . In 2004 Manouz moved from Berlin to Leipzig and studied at the Pop / Jazz department at the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy University of Music and Theater until completing his music studies in 2010 .

During his studies he toured with various projects, immersed himself in the musical cosmos of folk / chanson and world music and increasingly opened up to the musical influences of jazz , pop and electronic music. Since 2009 he has composed numerous songs for his fellow singer-songwriter Felix Meyer. He also worked as a street musician.

In 2016 his German-language debut album Thousand and One People was released on the Leipzig independent label RUM Records. He released his second German-language album Auszeit im Irgendwo in 2019 on his own together with the distributor SPV .

Manouz appears with his band and as an accompanist for Meyer and other artists like Athina Kontou on small and large stages as well as festivals and produces in his own studio in Leipzig.
