Erinn Smart (born January 12, 1980 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is a former American foil fencer .
successes
Erinn Smart won the bronze medal with the team at the 2001 World Championships in Nîmes . Two years later she also won bronze in singles at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo . In 2007 she was in Montreal with the team Pan-American Champion and in the individual Vice- Pan-American Champion. She took part in the Olympic Games twice: in 2004 she took 17th place in the individual competition in Athens . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , she reached 26th place in the individual. After victories over Poland and Hungary , she moved into the final against Russia with the team , which the Russian team won 28:11. Together with Emily Cross and Hanna Thompson she received the silver medal. After the games, she ended her career.
Smart earned a degree in economics at 2001 Barnard College of Columbia University and acquired in 2013 an MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania . For the "Penn" she was also active in college sports. Her brother Keeth Smart was also an Olympic fencer.
