Erkan Gündüz
Erkan Gündüz (born December 18, 1972 in İskenderun , Turkey ) is a German actor , stuntman and director with Turkish roots.
In 1978 he came to Germany with his parents and two brothers. After finishing school, he first completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic, later he trained as a stuntman specializing in body stunts. He took private acting lessons for two years with Wladimir Matuchin in Düsseldorf . Among other things, he worked as a show actor in an amusement park in Bottrop .
In 1999, when the WDR television series Lindenstrasse was looking for an actor to play the role of a young Turk, Gündüz applied and was selected during the casting process . From August 1999 (episode 716) to March 2020 (episode 1758) he was regularly seen as "Murat Dağdelen" in Lindenstrasse , which gave him a certain degree of awareness in the German-speaking world.
On the theater stage, Erkan Gündüz played the main character "Stanley Kowalski" in Tennessee Williams ' Endstation Sehnsucht in 1999 and "Smirnoff" in The Bear by Anton Chekhov in 2000 , both at the Düsseldorf Schauspielwerkstatt. At the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus he played “Sébastien de Valmont” in a stage version of the novel Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre-Ambroise-François Choderlos de Laclos .
As a film actor, Gündüz appeared in films such as Jacob's Brother (2007) and Takiye - In God's Name (2010). In 2006 he played one of the leading roles in the movie Cell . In the same year he was seen in the RTL comedy series Angie with Mirja Boes.
Gündüz is also active as a director. His film 15 meters was shown in 2010 at the Max Ophüls Preis film festival .
Erkan Gündüz, who also works as a television actor in Turkey, has his main residence in Cologne.
