The Erlbach is a 4½ km long brook in Middle Franconia , which flows into the Schwabach from the left and north-west near Rohr in the Roth district .

geography

source

The Erlbach arises about a kilometer west of the Müncherlbach district of the small town of Heilsbronn in the Ansbach district in a wood that soon ends in the west at a solar system. Along a dirt road running westward from the source , an inconsistent water-bearing ditch runs flat upwards almost to the route of the Nuremberg – Crailsheim railway in the west for over a kilometer, which may drain into the Erlbach.

course

The stream begins its course in an easterly direction, emerges from the forest after less than 200 meters and flows through three ponds, one after the other, with a total area of about ½ ha. Then it moves in a rather flat and wide meadow hollow between two hillside forests, crosses under federal highway 14 about a kilometer below the source and then enters the settlement area of Müncherlbach. He runs through the village for the most part, he leaves it about two kilometers from the source and then steps back in front of its sewage treatment plant between two forests, the Pflöcklesberg on the left and the Rohrer Grund on the right, where state road 2239 accompanies him in its flat meadow hollow and he always follows him turns more on south-east course. About three kilometers from the source it crosses into the area of the municipality of Rohr in the district of Roth . About 700 m further, a little earlier on the right, a little later on the left, the accompanying forests end. After another long stretch, the Erlbach flows on the western edge of Rohr from the left and from the northwest into the Schwabach , which flows eastwards here , where it is crossed by the Am Rohr road.

Landscape and nature

The Erlbach runs as a straightened and almost woodless trench through a flat meadow hollow. Trees almost only appear where it runs at the edge of the valley floor and where the hill forest borders, i.e. on the last three hundred meters before the B 14.

colonization

The only place in the valley is Müncherlbach. To the left of the estuary stands an isolated property that already belongs to Rohr.
