geography
course
The stream rises east of the Erlenbach district of Tiefenthal below the Tiefenthaler Höhe. It runs through the village of Tiefenthal and runs parallel to the MSP 41 district road towards Erlenbach .
On dry days, this upper course does not carry any water, so the stream has its source from several sources in the village of Erlenbach, near Gartenstrasse. The Ochsenwiese well room is the largest of these springs. Over a distance of almost 200 meters, water emerges in several places. The underground catchment area extends over a large area to the Zellinger Mulde in the northeast. On the Hermannsberg part of the water vein is tapped and fed into the drinking water supply of Erlenbach. The unsupported water then continues to the source at the Ochsenwiese. In 1995 the outlet was enclosed with a wall to preserve the well . This source stream joins after about 230 m with the upper course flowing down from Tiefenthal.
On its further course towards the northwest, the Erlenbach passes the Sibrichsmühle , the Barthelsmühle , the Haunermühle and the core town of Marktheidenfeld . There it flows from about 510 meters to about 20 meters before the mouth. The Heubrunnenbach flows to it about 330 meters before the mouth from the right, largely piped. The Erlenbach then crosses under the Main cycle path before it flows into the Main.
