Ernest R. Dickerson
Ernest Roscoe Dickerson (born June 25, 1951 in Newark , New Jersey ) is an American cinematographer and director .
Life
Ernest Dickerson studied at Howard University in Washington, DC
He began his film career in 1983 as a cameraman for director Spike Lee . The two worked together for about a decade, their last film together is Malcolm X from 1992. In the same year Ernest Dickerson made his debut as a feature film director with Juice , for whom he also wrote the script for the only time to date. Dickerson is also active for television, so he directed a. a. several episodes of the series The Wire , Dexter and The Walking Dead .
Ernest Roscoe Dickerson has five children.
