Surviving the Game - kill him! (also: Surviving the Game - Hetzjagd durch die Hell ) is an American thriller from 1994.
action
The African American Jack Mason has lost everything and lives among the homeless in Seattle. When his only friend dies, he runs into the street in despair and stands in front of an approaching truck. An employee of the homeless kitchen reacts immediately and pulls him aside. The African-American Walter Cole takes a strong interest, speaks to his conscience and offers him a good job. During the interview with the wealthy businessman Thomas Burns, a hunting tour operator, Mason has to take a short fitness test. Then he has a (supposedly) good job as a hunting guide. Burns, his employee Walter Cole and Mason fly into the wilderness in a sport airplane. Shortly after landing in a large clearing, another plane arrives. There are the remaining, wealthy participants in the hunting party: Mr. Wolfe (entrepreneur) and his son Derek, as well as Doc Hawkins (psychiatrist) and John Griffin (widower). The men spend a sociable evening in the hunting lodge with beer and suckling pig. Mason hears odd remarks and looks, but does not suspect anything. At a remark from Mason, Griffin freaks out and threatens him. The other men push him away and tell him to relax and go to sleep. As the men go to bed, Burns tells Mason that he will find out the details of his job the next day.
The next day Jack Mason is brutally dragged out of bed by the men and thrown out of the hut. Burns makes it clear to him to start running. The company would first have breakfast and then the hunt for "him" would begin. Should he make it to civilization, he would be free. The unsuspecting Wolfe Junior is horrified and is ruled by his father. He paid $ 50,000 to attend this event. The experience of hunting and killing should make him, the son, a man. Mason runs aimlessly and headlessly into the forest and is soon followed by the hunting party on quads. Completely out of breath, he pauses and thinks: in order to survive, he must do something unforeseeable for the hunters. He then decides to return to the hut. To his horror, he discovered a trophy room in the hut: shelves with preservation jars filled with the severed heads of all the hunted men. Mason then sets the trophy room on fire. Meanwhile, Burns has realized that Mason (the first of the hunt victims ever) has turned around. The hunters return to the hut. In the burning hut, Mason kills Hawkins in a duel.
Mason flees into the forest again, the others pursue him. Griffin is captured by Mason and learns that he is not a murderer, but has lost his wife and child in a fire accident (hence the scars on his body). Griffin returns to the hunting party and says he wants to quit. Then he is shot by Cole. Father and son Wolfe fall apart, the son falls to his death. Burns is the only hunter to survive and flee to Seattle by plane . He has changed his appearance a lot and is about to go into hiding when Mason turns him into a dark backyard driveway. Mason has the pistol that his late friend gave him with a warning that it would "backfire". He aims at Burns but says "this one is not worth it", throws the pistol on the ground, turns and walks away. Burns immediately picks up the pistol, aims at Mason, pulls the trigger, and is instantly dead.
