Ernesto Togni
Ernesto Togni (born October 6, 1926 in Brione (Verzasca) , Ticino, Switzerland) is Bishop Emeritus of Lugano .
Life
He received on 7 May 1950 by the apostolic administrator of Lugano Angelo Giuseppe Jelmini the priesthood and was in the clergy of the diocese of Lugano incardinated .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 15, 1978 Bishop of Lugano. The Apostolic Nuncio in Switzerland , Ambrogio Marchioni , donated him episcopal ordination on September 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Pierre Mamie , Bishop of Lausanne, Geneva and Friborg , and Giuseppe Martinoli , Bishop Emeritus of Lugano.
On June 21, 1985 Ernesto Togni resigned from his office.
