Ambrogio Marchioni
Ambrogio Marchioni (born August 31, 1911 in Naples , Italy , † February 27, 1989 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and Vatican diplomat .
Life
Ambrogio Marchioni received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Naples on May 26, 1934 .
On July 1, 1959, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Severiana and ordered him to apostolic nuncio in El Salvador and Guatemala . The secretary of the Congregation for Catholic Education , Carlo Cardinal Confalonieri , ordained him episcopal on November 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the secretary for extraordinary tasks of the Church, Archbishop Antonio Samorè , and Archbishop Pietro Parente .
On September 1, 1964, Ambrogio Marchioni became an official in the Vatican State Secretariat . Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 30, 1967 as Apostolic Nuncio in Switzerland . In September 1984 Ambrogio Marchioni resigned as Apostolic Nuncio in Switzerland.
Ambrogio Marchioni attended the first, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
