Giuseppe Martinoli
Giuseppe Martinoli (born February 28, 1903 in Marolta ; † December 7, 1994 in Lugano ) was Bishop of Lugano .
Life
He received on 11 June 1927 the apostolic administrator of Lugano Angelo Giuseppe Jelmini the priesthood and was in the clergy of the diocese of Lugano incardinated .
On July 30, 1968, Giuseppe Martinoli was appointed Titular Bishop of Camplum and Apostolic Administrator of Lugano. The Apostolic Nuncio in Switzerland , Archbishop Ambrogio Marchioni , donated him episcopal ordination on March 8, 1971 ; Co- consecrators were Anton Hänggi , Bishop of Basel and Lugano, and François-Nestor Adam , Bishop of Sion .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 15, 1978 Bishop of Lugano. On July 15, 1978 Giuseppe Martinoli resigned from his office. A street is named after him in his native Marolta.
He was buried in the crypt of the Basilica del Sacro Cuore in Lugano Molino Nuovo .
