Ernst Christian Carl Kruse

Ernst Christian Carl Kruse (born February 28, 1837 in Esens , East Frisia , † February 22, 1900 in Berlin ) was a German doctor and politician .

Live and act

Born the son of a master tailor, Kruse studied medicine at the Georg-August University in Göttingen after attending grammar school and completing an apprenticeship as a pharmacist in Esen's medicine . During his studies he became a member of the Hercynia Göttingen fraternity in 1855 . He was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . After several years working in various hospitals, he opened a practice in Norden . In 1871 he was one of the founding members of the North shipping company (later North Frisia ). In 1882 Kruse moved to the island of Norderney , where he was appointed royal bath doctor and in 1885 appointed medical doctor. During this time (1883) he also published his work Seeluft und Seebad , which received a lot of attention.

From 1884 to 1890 and from 1893 to 1900, Kruse was a member of the German Reichstag for the National Liberal Party as a representative of the “2. East Frisian electoral district ”, which included the old districts of Aurich , Wittmund , Wilhelmshaven , the Stickhausen and Papenburg offices. In 1893, Kruse was also elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1898.

On February 21, 1900, during a meeting of the Petitions Commission that he chaired, Kruse suffered such severe cerebral hemorrhage that he could no longer be transported and died the next day in the Berlin Reichstag.
