Ernst Christian Moser
Ernst Christian Moser (born November 1, 1815 in Graz ; † April 30, 1867 there ) was an Austrian portrait and genre painter.
Born as the son of a watchmaker, Moser studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1828 under Karl Gsellhofer , Anton Schaller , Johann Nepomuk Ender , Josef Redl , Leopold Kupelwieser , Joseph Mössmer , Sebastian Wegmayr and Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller .
During his studies, Moser received various scholarships, was awarded the Gundel Prize twice and the Lampi Prize twice.
In 1840 Moser was appointed a teacher at the State Drawing Academy in Graz.
He mainly dealt with portrait and genre painting, and also created history pictures.
