Joseph Mössmer
Joseph Mössmer (born March 20, 1780 in Vienna ; † June 22, 1845 ) was an Austrian painter .
Life
Mössmer began studying painting in 1796 at the Vienna Art Academy under Friedrich August Brand . After completing his studies, he was appointed professor of landscape painting there. His students included u. a. Emanuel Stöckler , Johann August Heinrich , Franz Xaver Reinhold , Anton Altmann and Friedrich Loos . He encouraged his students to work in the great outdoors.
