Ernst Friedrich Adickes (born March 7, 1811 in Cappel , † January 26, 1878 in Hanover ) was a German politician and member of the Reichstag .

Life

Ernst Adickes' father was dyke and state chief in the Kingdom of Hanover .

Ernst Adickes was a manor and entrepreneur. In 1853 he founded the Wurster shipping company and was vice president of the Geestemünder dock company. Furthermore, he was an authorized representative of the Bremen and Hamburg sea insurance companies. He founded the Hanover-Altenbecken railway company and the Löhne-Vienenburg railway. He was also a co-founder of the Weser fishing company. The Geestemünde Chamber of Commerce counted him among its outstanding members. Adickes was also Vice President for the Agricultural Society for the Province of Bremen.

In addition to his entrepreneurial activity, Adickes devoted himself to politics. He was president of the state assembly of the state of Wursten and from 1842 a member of the provincial landscape of Bremen and Verden. From 1840 to 1866 he was a member of the second chamber of the Landtag of Hanover. In 1848 Ernst Adickes was a member of the Hanover Condeputy Assembly. He was represented in the Provincial Parliament of Hanover from 1867 to 1878. From 1867 to 1870 he belonged to the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Hanover 33 ( Lehe - Geestemünde ).

In 1868 he was elected to the Reichstag of the North German Confederation and from 1871 to 1874 to the Reichstag . The constituency of the Province of Hanover 6 (Hoya-Verden) elected him there . He was a member of the National Liberal Party .

Ernst Adickes was the uncle of Franz Adickes .
