Ernst Gustav von Rümelin

Ernst Gustav Gottlob Rümelin , from 1844 von Rümelin , (born May 20, 1785 in Maulbronn , † January 10, 1850 in Heilbronn ) was a Württemberg senior bailiff and member of the state parliament.

life and work

Gustav Rümelins father Christian Friedrich Rümelin (1739-1803) was Oberamtmann and since 1791 Hofrat in Maulbronn. His mother Christiane Sofie Regine geb. Schüz (1753-1828) was his fourth wife. Gustav Rümelin had four siblings, one of them from his father's first marriage.

He attended the Maulbronn monastery school and from 1802 studied theology at the University of Tübingen . From 1805 to 1807 he completed a law degree in Tübingen. In 1807 he became a lawyer, from 1807 to 1810 he was an actuary at the Oberamt Heilbronn , from 1811 to 1813 he was then subordinate and council clerk in Weikersheim . In 1813 he took up his first senior official position at the Ravensburg Oberamt , which he held until 1816. From 1816 to 1819 he was senior bailiff in Besigheim . From 1819 to 1850 Gustav Rümelin was then chief magistrate in Heilbronn, since 1841 with the title of chief justice officer. He owned a large winery in Heilbronn .

politics

In 1826 he was elected to the Oberamt Besigheim in the Württemberg state parliament and exercised this mandate until 1830. From 1839 to 1843 there was a second election to the state parliament for the Oberamt Weinsberg .

family

Gustav Rümelin married Henriette Dreiß (1790–1865), a merchant's daughter from Heilbronn, in 1811. The marriage produced five children, including Eugen Gustav Rümelin (1812–1899), Gustav von Rümelin (1815–1889) and the Heilbronn bankers Richard Rümelin (1818–1880) and Max Rümelin (1823–1893).

Honors

1844 was the Ernst Gustav Rümelin Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg crown awarded, bringing the personal title of nobility ( ennoblement ) was associated.
