Ernst Hoferichter

Ernst Hoferichter (born January 19, 1895 in Munich ; † November 3, 1966 there ) was a German writer , journalist and actor .

Life

During the First World War he was an officer aspirant in the Bavarian body regiment .

Hoferichter studied philosophy, psychology and literature at the universities in Freiburg and Munich. After his studies he stood u. a. with Karl Valentin and Liesl Karlstadt on stage. He had learned acting from Otto Falckenberg .

He worked for the Simplicissimus and the youth .

He went on a world tour with his wife and reported about it in several newspapers.

He was particularly interested in graphology . He was appointed by the court as a graphological expert in several criminal trials.

In 1949 he proposed to the Munich publisher WE Freitag (who published Der Simpl ) to start the magazine Der neue Pitaval with him as editor. His concept: Interesting criminal cases, including unexplained ones, should - re-researched and psychologically examined - be told in an exciting and sophisticated manner. Only three issues appeared, then the magazine was discontinued for economic reasons.

In 1962 he was awarded the Schwabinger Art Prize and the Bavarian Poetentaler .

After his death, his wife inherited the city of Munich and obliged her to set up a foundation honoring Munich writers who were characterized by "originality with open-mindedness and humor". The Ernst Hoferichter Prize has therefore been awarded since 1975 .

His estate is kept in the Munich City Archives.
