Ernst Katzmann

Ernst Katzmann (born November 10, 1897 in Vieselbach , † June 6, 1968 in Mannheim ) was a German NSDAP politician.

Professional life

Katzmann was a master chimney sweep in Vieselbach , and since April 1933 then a district chimney sweep . In May 1935 he became Deputy Reich Guild Master . Other offices were regional handicrafts leader of Central Germany , board member of the "Reichsstand des Deutschen Handwerks" and president of the Chamber of Crafts in Weimar .

Political life

Katzmann represented constituency 12 of Thuringia from 1930 to 1936 as a member of the Reichstag . He was also a Thuringian State Councilor . Other functions were Gauleiter in the Kampfbund for the commercial middle class and Gauleiter of the NS-Hago , the trade, craft and trade organization of the German Labor Front (DAF).

In the wanted list of the Americans in 1945 Ernst Katzmann can be found under the registration "38856 M 97 NSDAP Reichsredner ".

The date of his death on September 19, 1957 in Darmstadt, published in some books, was confused with SS-Gruppenführer Fritz Katzmann .
