Ernst Lindemann (agricultural scientist)

Ernst Lindemann (born November 28, 1936 in Kegelsmühl, Deutsch Krone district , West Prussia ) is a German agricultural scientist . He was a university professor for animal husbandry at the Humboldt University of Berlin (HU Berlin).

Live and act

He completed his school education in Templin in 1955 with the Abitur . From 1955 to 1961 he studied agricultural sciences at the Humboldt University in Berlin. From 1961 to 1963, Lindemann was in charge of the insemination bull station in Wismar and then the department for offspring testing in the state-owned company (VEB) insemination in Stralsund . From 1964 he was a scientific assistant at the Institute for Animal Breeding at the University of Rostock (with a doctorate in 1967) and from 1967 to 1971 senior scientific assistant. In 1970 he received the facultas docendi for "cattle breeding and husbandry" at the University of Rostock.

From 1971 to 1977 he was the first director of the VEB Tierzucht Rostock, which was newly formed after the merger of the Rostock Animal Breeding Inspection and the VEB Besamung Stralsund. He then worked from 1977 to 1979 as a university lecturer at the Animal Production Section at the University of Rostock. In 1979 he was appointed Full Professor of Animal Production Technology at the Animal Production and Veterinary Medicine Section of the Humboldt University (HU) in Berlin. He also represented this area from 1990 to 1993 at the newly formed Faculty of Agriculture and Horticulture.

From 1994 to 2002 he was the dean of the agricultural and horticultural faculty at the HU Berlin and was then retired.
