Ernst Möller (born August 19, 1891 in Kiel ; † November 8, 1916 ) was a German football player who was also active for the national team .

Career

Möller played for Holstein Kiel for six years and turned 20 - after two years of membership - with the team German champions . With his penalty in the 52nd minute in the final against Karlsruhe FV , he secured his team the only title to date.

Möller was considered the best left wing striker in Germany before the First World War and was mentioned in the same breath as Hamburg football legend Adolf Jäger . In his short career, his extraordinary ball handling and extreme speed were always emphasized. Together with his teammates Georg Krogmann and Willi Fick , he was considered the heart of the Kiel championship eleven from 1912.

National team

Möller made nine international appearances within two years and scored four goals for the national team of the DFB .

His debut on April 14, 1911, in a 2-2 draw against England's national team in Berlin , he crowned with his first two goals, the 1-1 goals in the 48th and 2-1 in the 50th minute. On June 18, 1911, he played his only international match that he was able to complete with a win. In Solna , near Stockholm , he won with the national team 4-2 over the national team of Sweden . Of his following seven international matches, six were lost. He played his last international match on November 23, 1913 in Antwerp in the 2-6 defeat against the Belgian national team .
