Willi Fick (born February 17, 1891 in Lurup , today in Hamburg , † September 5, 1913 in Kiel ) was a German football player.

Career

societies

Fick, born in Lurup and moved to Kiel with his family at a young age , founded Holstein Kiel's early successes together with his brothers Hans and Hugo , who never played for the national team. From 1908 to 1913 he was a member of the team for which he played point games in the championships held by the North German Football Association in the Kiel district and also won the district championships during this period. With the associated participation in the finals of the German championship in 1910 for the first time the entry into the final , which on May 15 in Cologne only in the extension through the penalty goal by Max Grafe in the 114th minute with 0: 1 against Karlsruhe FV was lost. There was a reunion with the Karlsruher FV on May 26, 1912 in Hamburg in the renewed final , which this time - with the penalty converted by Ernst Möller in the 52nd minute - was won by Holstein Kiel. In this game Fick was already marked by an illness - probably tuberculosis - from which he died on September 5, 1913; even before he could begin training to be the police officer he once wanted to be. According to other sources, Fick is said to have died on September 5, 1915 in the First World War , which is wrong, but presumably applies to his brother Hans. Hugo, the other brother, worked for Hamburger SV for several years from 1919 .

National team

He played his only international match for the senior national team at the age of 19 on April 24, 1910 in Arnhem in the 2: 4 defeat against the national team of the Netherlands . At the side of the two players of the Karlsruher FV , Max Breunig and Ernst Hollstein , he was used in the storm next to Karl Wegele and Eugen Kipp and scored his only goal with the opening goal to 2-1 in the 42nd minute.
