Ernst Maria Ferdinand von Bissingen
Ernst Maria Ferdinand von Bissingen (born July 16, 1750 in Konstanz , † March 12, 1820 in Vác ) was the last auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Konstanz .
Life
He was the son of Count Cajetan Leopold von Bissingen and his wife Maria Amalia Lucia, Countess von Spaur. From 1766 to 1769 von Bissingen studied both rights ( civil law and canon law ) in Würzburg, then dogmatics and moral theology at the Lyceum in Constance. In 1769 he became a cathedral priest in Constance . He was ordained a priest on April 26, 1778 . Ernst Maria Ferdinand von Bissingen was Vicar General in Constance from 1778 to 1802 and President of the Spiritual Council. From 1789 to 1814 he was the dean of the Constance Minster .
Pope Pius VII appointed him titular bishop of Iasus on December 23, 1801 and appointed him auxiliary bishop in Constance. The episcopal ordination donated to him on March 28, 1802 in Meersburg, the former Bishop of Riez , François de Clugny . Until April 24, 1813, von Bissingen was the last auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Constance. After that he was provost of the cathedral in Vác until his death .
