Ernst Palmberger (born May 20, 1957 in Rosenheim ) is a German entrepreneur and former racing driver .

Career

Ernst Palmberger is a master butcher by profession and runs a butcher's shop with an affiliated wholesaler in Rosenheim with his son .

In the 1990s, Palmberger was active as a racing driver. In 1994 he started in the BPR Global GT Series . Already on his first appearance he drove onto the podium of the top three. The traditional 1000 km race of Paris, first held in 1956 at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry , was revived in 1994 . Palmberger was registered together with Detlef Hübner and Danny Pfeil in a Porsche 911 Carrera RSR . The trio achieved third place overall in the Venturi 600LM, two laps behind the winners Henri Pescarolo and Jean-Claude Basso .

After a few races in the BPR Global GT Series in 1995 , he switched to the ADAC GT Cup that year and finished eighth overall in the championship. He spent the last three years of his active time in the FIA GT Championship from 1998 to 2000 . Emergency vehicles were Porsche 911 GT2s from the German racing teams Seikel and Freisinger . His two Le Mans starts ended with failures and the start of the 24 Hours of Daytona 2000 with ninth place overall.
