Ernst von Schlippenbach

Count Ernst von Schlippenbach (born June 21, 1804 in Schönermark ( Prenzlau district ), † May 25, 1885 in Heiligenkreuz in Croatia ) was royal Prussian major general and most recently the commander of the 1st Uhlan regiment. Having owned the Heilgenkreuz rulership , he was a member of the Croatian magnate table .

origin

He was the son of Friedrich Wilhelm Graf von Schlippenbach (born June 16, 1772 in Berlin; † September 20, 1832 in Basedow ) and his wife Karoline Friederike, née Countess von Beust (born August 28, 1772 in Altenburg; † September 18 1826 in Berlin). His brother Ferdinand Ludwig Hermann Karl (1799–1866) became a Prussian lieutenant general.

Life

He went to Potsdam as a cadet on January 10, 1817 and became a cadet in Berlin on April 1, 1819 . After graduating, he joined the 2nd Guards Landwehr Cavalry Regiment (later 2nd Guards Uhlans Regiment ) on March 1, 1822, as a non-commissioned officer . There he was appointed Portepeefähnrich on April 12, 1823 and aggregated as a second lieutenant on November 16, 1823 and assigned to June 18, 1824. He was promoted to Premier-Lieutenant on April 25, 1839, and then on December 10, 143 he was Rittmeister and Squadron Chief in Regiment. During the March Revolution of 1848 he was involved in the street fighting in Berlin. He was promoted to major on October 14, 1851, and appointed as a regular staff officer. On June 30, 1855 he was transferred to the 1st Uhlan Regiment as commander, where he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on October 15, 1856. On January 18, 1858, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 3rd class with ribbon, and on May 31, 1859, he was promoted to colonel. On September 20, 1859 he was board up for grabs asked and received permission to bear the uniform of his regiment.

On May 19, 1881 he was promoted to major general and died on May 25, 1885 in Heiligenkreuz in Croatia. He was a knight of the Order of St. John and the House Order of Hohenzollern .

Schlippenbach married Henrika Regina Sermage von Szamsebraz on December 19, 1832 in Heiligenkreuz (* March 18, 1811, † May 15, 1895). The couple had several children:
