Erwin Bass

Erwin Bass , also Erwin Bass , (born July 18, 1895 in Bönnigheim , † after 1978) was a German doctor and university professor.

Life

He was the son of the commercial school director Jakob Baß and his wife Maria nee Streich and grew up in Württemberg . From 1903 to 1913 he attended high school in Stuttgart and then studied at the University of Munich until 1914 . Interrupted by the First World War, he continued his studies at the University of Strasbourg in 1917 and moved to the University of Tübingen in 1919 . In 1921 Erwin Bass became an assistant at the Physiological Institute at the University of Tübingen, and in 1928 he switched to the medical clinic in Greifswald as an assistant . In 1927 he completed his habilitation in internal medicine at the University of Greifswald . In 1928 he became an assistant and later a senior physician at the Medical Clinic and Polyclinic in Göttingen . On August 31, 1933, he was appointed associate professor at the Medical Faculty of the University of Göttingen . At the end of the following year, on December 1, 1934, Erwin Baß became chief physician of the medical department of the Henriettenstift in Hanover . In this role he remained in office until the 1950s. Erwin Baß renounced his license to teach in Göttingen in 1938 after he had been awarded a teaching post at the University of Hanover on the “border areas of internal human and veterinary medicine” .

As senior government and veterinary council a. D. he appeared in 1978.
