Erwin Fiedor (born May 20, 1943 in Koniaków ; † February 14, 2012 ibid) was a Polish Nordic skier who was particularly successful as a Nordic combined skier and as a special jumper .

Career

Fiedor won his first national championship title in the Nordic combined in 1964 and came second in the international competition at Holmenkollen . At the following Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 , he was 14th in the individual competition. As a result, he concentrated more and more on the special jumping disciplines, since jumping was one of his strengths. When he started at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1966 , he was unsuccessful. At the Polish championships in 1967 he won the championship title in ski jumping and again the silver medal in the combined competition. In 1968 he won the Polish championships from both the normal hill in Szczyrk and the large hill in Wisła . In the same year he started in jumping and the combination at the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968 , but only reached 30th place on the normal and large hill in ski jumping. In the Nordic Combined he reached 18th place. Two years later, Fiedor started again at the Nordic World Ski Championships , but was again without a top ranking.

After his active career, Fiedor worked as a trainer and also trained successful combiners like Jan Legierski and Stanisław Kawulok .
