Stanisław Hubert Kawulok (born November 2, 1953 in Istebna ) is a former Polish Nordic combined skier . With a total of nine individual championship titles, he is the Polish record champion.

Career

Kawulok, who started most of his career for ROW Rybnik , made his international debut at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1973 in Kawgolowo , where he won the silver medal in the individual competition. After he became Polish champion for the first time in Zakopane in 1974 , Kawulok was almost unchallenged at the top of the Polish combined athletes in the following years and only failed to win the championship title twice between 1974 and 1984.

Accordingly, he represented his home country at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck and the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid . While he did not finish the competition in Innsbruck, he took 26th place in the 1980 competition on the normal hill and over 15 km. At the world championships , Kawulok only competed in Lahti in 1978 , where he was twelfth with the fifth-best running time.

After moving to Olimpia Goleszów in 1980 , Kawulok was also successful in team competitions. Together with Jan Ligocki and Jan Legierski, he won the championship title in Nordic combined and the silver medal in ski jumping in Zakopane in 1983 . In addition, he started in the first World Cup season 1983/84 , in which he reached the points twice. His best result was eleventh place in Schonach .

After failing to switch to the skating technique , he lost touch and ended his career.
