Erwin Hartung

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Erwin Hartung (born March 4, 1901 in Bromberg , Province of Posen , † January 25, 1986 in Düsseldorf ) was a German actor and singer . In the 1930s he was one of the busiest refrain singers on German records .

By nature he was an actor and operetta buffalo , his role subject was the "singing bon vivant". He began his career in 1920 at the Städtischen Schauspiel in Bayreuth , before he came to Berlin in 1925 after further engagements at the Stadttheater Konstanz and in Breslau . Here, after various smaller engagements, from 1926/1927 he belonged to the ensemble of the theater in the Admiralspalast and took part in the Haller revues . In 1929 he was discovered for the record by the orchestra conductor Paul Godwin . Since then, the series of recordings with him as the refrain singer has not stopped, sometimes under a pseudonym : often as Ernst Harten or Hans Horsten. There are at least 3,000 recordings with him, probably even more than 5,000. From 1939 to 1946 he was married to the successful operetta singer Mara Jakisch . The son Götz Hartung emerged from this marriage.

In addition to his record work, Hartung continued to work as an actor on stage and in films. He played a leading role in the film "Husarenliebe", a 1932 military fluctuation.

Other films were e.g. B .:

As early as 1936 he appeared on television with Emanuel Rambour and his orchestra . After the Second World War , Hartung emerged as an interpreter of mood songs and played small roles in the theater and on television until the 1970s. In 1977 he was seen in the two-part TV series Onkel Silas, directed by Wilhelm Semmelroth , alongside Hannes Messemer .

After the Second World War he made numerous recordings at AMIGA: For details see here:
