Erwin Koler

Erwin Koler (born December 13, 1949 in Imsterberg , Tyrol ) is an Austrian politician . From 2006 to 2008 he was Education and Culture Council ( ÖVP ) of the Austrian state of Tyrol.

education and profession

Erwin Koler attended elementary school in Imsterberg and then switched to the Episcopal Gymnasium Paulinum in Schwaz , where he passed the Matura. After the military service, Koler began studying law and received his doctorate in 1974.

Koler began his professional career as a lawyer in 1975 as an administrative lawyer at the Imst district administration . From January 1994 to December 2005 he was district captain of Landeck . In addition, from 1973 to 1976 Koler was managing director of the tourism association. Since 1996 Koler has been chairman of Lebenshilfe Tirol in the Landeck district and since 2006 he has been the official president of the state school council for Tyrol.

Between 1980 and 1990 Koler was a local councilor in Imsterberg. Between 2006 and 2008 he acted as education and culture councilor in the state government van Staa II . His portfolio included the business fields of education, vocational schools, universities, technical colleges and culture. He was sworn in by the Tyrolean state parliament on January 3, 2006 , but found no place in the government team of the new governor Günther Platter ( state government Platter I ) after the state elections in Tyrol in 2008 .

In 2010, Koler received the Tyrolean Decoration of Honor .

Private

Erwin Koler was born as the first of three sons to a railroad worker and a housewife. He has been married since 1974 and has a son and a daughter († 2001). He lives in Mils near Imst .
