Erwin Schwab
Erwin Schwab (born September 16, 1964 in Heppenheim ) is a German amateur astronomer and works at the GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research .
Schwab specializes in observing asteroids and comets . He discovered numerous asteroids in different observatories. He discovered the minor planets (204852) Frankfurt and (243440) Colonia at the Taunus observatory of the Frankfurt Physical Society . He discovered the minor planets (241418) Darmstadt , (263932) Speyer and (243536) Mannheim through the Tzec Maun observatories in Mayhill ( USA ) and Moorook ( Australia ).
In 1986 Schwab came second in the German Boomerang Championship.
At the suggestion of the Spanish Observatorio Astronómico de La Sagra , the asteroid was named after Erwin Schwab in 185638 .
