Esma Annemon Dil (* 1974 in Cologne ) is a German journalist and writer .

Esma Annemon Dil completed her studies or postgraduate studies in sociology , psychology , constitutional and international law in Augsburg , Paris and New York from 1994 to 1998 .

Before and during her studies, she worked as a freelance journalist, from 1999 to 2001 at Stern and in the development departments of Burda in Berlin and Offenburg .

From 2002 to 2006 she was Features Editor at Vogue .

The author has been commuting between Los Angeles , Munich and Berlin since 2007 , she publishes in magazines and newspapers such as Vogue, Süddeutsche Zeitung , Vanity Fair and FAZ .

Her first book, Foreign Affairs , was published in July 2009 , a collection of short stories that she co-authored with Ariane Sommer .
