Ariane summer
Ariane Sommer (born March 9, 1977 in Bonn ) is a German author , columnist , presenter and model . She became known at the beginning of 2000 through reports in the tabloid media , in which she was often referred to as an It Girl .
Life
As the daughter of a German diplomat, Ariane Sommer grew up in various places, including New Delhi , Sierra Leone , Paris , Madrid and Miami . She completed her Abitur at the Salem boarding school and then moved to Berlin to study political science at the FU Berlin .
Publicity
In 2000 her book Die Benimm -Bibel was published by Argon Verlag , which has been available as a Fischer paperback since 2001 . In 2009 the short story collection Foreign Affairs was published by weissbooks.w- Verlag. Together with Roman Libbertz, she published the erotic novel Lieben Lassen in September 2015 at ars vivendi Verlag .
She worked as a columnist in Germany (fixed columns 2000–2002 in Playboy , 2001–2002 in Max , one-time guest columns and articles in InStyle, Bunte , Cosmopolitan , Emma , emotion , Bild , Die Zeit , FAZ as well as Revue and BILD.de ) . Since 2008 she has published a column on culture, society and etiquette in the British-Chinese publication China Ethos under the title "The Diplomat's Daughter". Since April 2011, Sommer has been writing a weekly column for Gala . In April 2007, Sommer appeared on the cover of Maxim magazine and in February 2008 in a photo series in GQ magazine .
Ariane Sommer has been vegetarian since 2008 and "as vegan as possible" since 2009 . In the fall of 2008, she campaigned naked in a campaign for the animal rights organization PETA against wearing fur . Since November 2014 Ariane Sommer has been writing about vegan life in her column “Eating plants” for Die Tageszeitung .
Acting
From 2000 she took on extra roles in television series and supporting roles in films such as Oskar Roehler's Agnes and his brothers (here in a crowd scene as one of the brain figures ).
In 2002 she moved to London , where she studied acting at the Actors Center . In 2005 she moved to Los Angeles . In 2007, Sommer was cast in an extra role ( Girl at the Bar ) in the Sony Pictures production Kings of South Beach .
Moderation
In Germany she moderated the television programs Top of the Pops (co-moderation, RTL, 2001), Lebensart ( n-tv , 2001) and Die Supergärtner ( ProSieben , 2005).
Private life
Sommer has been working as a model since she was 13. It appeared in numerous catalogs and was featured in print and television advertising campaigns for Deutsche Telekom and Volkswagen . It also made it to the front pages of various magazines. In 2008, Sommer was voted among the 101 most beautiful women in the world by readers of Maxim magazine. She describes herself on her website as an author, columnist and media personality. Her uncle is the journalist Theo Sommer .
