Esperde is a district of the municipality Emmerthal , district Hameln-Pyrmont in Lower Saxony .

geography

The village of Esperde is located in the middle of the Ilsetal . Bessinghausen is located in the north, Heyen in the south, Brockensen in the southwest and Börry in the west .

The place Esperde belongs together with the former communities Bessinghausen , Börry , Brockensen , Frenke , Hajen and Latferde to the village Börry.

history

In 1151 the place Esperde was mentioned for the first time as Everesvorde in the document book of the Hochstift Hildesheim . Over the centuries, the place name changed via Eversforde (1286), Esvorde (1502) and Asperde (17th century) to the current name. In June 2001 the village celebrated its 850th anniversary.

The St. Marien Church has stood in Esperde since the 16th century. This church was expanded in 1880 by two aisles and a new chancel. The first renovation of the church took place in 1968 and the second in 2006/2007. The bells in the tower date from 1931 and 1943.

There was also a school in the village. The teaching at the school is mentioned for the first time in the 17th century in connection with the Reformation . This school was in operation until 1972 and at that time all four primary school classes were taught in one room by a teacher. Today the kindergarten is housed in the building . Up to 25 children between the ages of three and seven are cared for there. In 2014 the kindergarten in Esperde was closed and moved to Börry .

On January 1, 1973 Esperde was incorporated into the new municipality of Emmerthal.

societies

On April 26th, 2002 the Tractor and Commercial Vehicle Interests Community Esperde und Umgebung (TUNIGEU for short) was founded. The association has 195 members and deals with the maintenance and care of old tractors. Furthermore, a tractor meeting is organized every year, where the members can present their tractors and commercial vehicles.
