The Ilse is an approximately ten kilometer long, right-hand tributary of the Weser in the Hameln-Pyrmont district in Lower Saxony .

The river has its source 500 m east of Haus Harderode , north of Harderode , a district of Coppenbrügge , near the Ith . From there the Ilse flows south through Harderode, then through the districts of Esperde , Brockensen and Börry of the municipality of Emmerthal . From Börry it makes a curve to the south, where it runs through the Frenke district before it flows into the Weser south of the Latferde district .
