Grohnde is a district of the municipality Emmerthal in the Hameln-Pyrmont district in Lower Saxony.

The place is located in the Weserbergland between Bodenwerder , Bad Pyrmont and Hameln directly on the Weser .

history

Around 1421, a Grohnde castle is mentioned, which is to be regarded as the forerunner of Grohnde Castle . The office of Ohsen was assigned to the office of Grohnde in 1823 , before it was again incorporated into the office of Hameln in 1859. Since the last bridge in Grohnde was destroyed during the Thirty Years War (1633), a yaw ferry has been crossing the river , although it is only in operation in summer.
