Esperstedt is a district of Bad Frankenhausen / Kyffhäuser in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .

location

Esperstedt is located on the Solgraben , a tributary of the Unstrut east of Bad Frankenhausen on Landesstraße 1172 near the Bundesstraße 85 . The district lies on the western edge of the Diamantenen Aue , to the northwest is the Kyffhäuser Mountains and to the southwest the northern roofing of the Hainleite . North of the Kyffhäuser Mountains in the Golden Aue runs the federal motorway 38 with a connection at Kelbra .

history

The village was first mentioned between 775 and 786. The early settlement in this area around the Hainich , Hainleite and Kyffhäuser is known. Until 1918 the place belonged to the rule of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .

On December 1st, 2007 Esperstedt with its 648 inhabitants was incorporated into Bad Frankenhausen.
