Rudolf Knauth

Rudolf Georg Knauth (born November 6, 1879 in Esperstedt , † March 24, 1963 in Leverkusen ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Born as the son of a man from Obersteig, Knauth studied law in Halle and Jena after attending the secondary school in Frankenhausen and the Latin secondary school of the Frankesche Stiftungen in Halle . During his studies in 1899 he became a member of the Alemannia fraternity on the plow . After his first exam in 1902 he was in the legal preparatory service in the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt until 1907 , interrupted from 1904 to 1905 from military service with the Royal Bavarian 6th Field Artillery Regiment “Prince Ferdinand of Bourbon, Duke of Calabria” ; In 1912 he was dismissed from the military as a lieutenant in the reserve . In 1906 in Jena he was promoted to Dr. iur. doctorate and took his second exam in 1907. In 1907 he became a court assessor, in 1908 an assessor at the Königsee district office , where he worked as a government assessor and provisional district administrator until 1911 , before he was appointed district administrator until 1912. In 1912 he was Councilor and Chairman of the Community Black Burgi's inheritance and capital gains tax office in Arnstadt . A short time later, in 1912, he became a senior administrative judge at the Thuringian Higher Administrative Court in Jena, where he became permanent deputy to the President of the Higher Administrative Court.

From 1919 to 1923 he was a member of the German People's Party . From 1921 to 1924 he was a member of the State Court of the German Reich . In 1923 he became chairman of the Jena-based Thuringian State Office for Family Goods. In 1926 he became Deputy Chairman of the Thuringian Criminal Police Office, in 1927 Chairman of the Thuringian Medical, Pharmacist and Veterinary Appeals Court and Deputy Chairman of the Commercial Expert Association. In 1932 he became a member of the supervisory board of Gothaer Feuerversicherungsbank AG.

In 1933 he became a member of the NSDAP (membership number 2,765,478). In 1933 he became a member and deputy chairman of the service court of the Thuringian Evangelical Church . From 1934 he was entrusted with the management of the business of the President of the Thuringian Higher Administrative Court , in 1940 he was appointed Vice President of the Thuringian Higher Administrative Court . In 1934 he became a part-time member of the branch of the Reich Justice Examination Office in Dresden . In 1935 he became chairman of the criminal chamber in Jena. In 1945 he was delegated to work in the legislative department of the Presidential Chancellery of the Thuringian state president.

In the course of his denazification proceedings , he was dismissed from the office of Vice President of the Higher Administrative Court in 1946, but was able to continue his work in the legislative department until his retirement in 1950. In 1951 he lived in Weimar , later moved to his son in Frankfurt am Main and last lived in Leverkusen.
