The Esplanade Bridge is a road bridge in Singapore .

The 260 meter long and 70 meter wide bridge spans the confluence of the Singapore River in Marina Bay . It connects the new Marina Center district in the north with the financial district in the south with two four-lane lanes and wide promenades on both sides. It relieves the pressure on the historic Anderson Bridge, which opened in 1909 .

The SBS bus route 501 is the first bus route to use the Esplanade Bridge together with the TIBS RapidBus 700 in 1998. With the opening of Esplanade Bridge, some services were changed over Esplanade Drive, which includes lines 10, 70 and 196 in 2000, followed by maintenance 97 in 2003.

The bridge consists of seven reinforced concrete arches and was built from 1994 to 1997. The Japanese company Ōbayashi Gumi was responsible for the construction . After its opening, the Esplanade Bridge partially blocked the view of the Merlion , the symbol of Singapore. Therefore, the statue was moved in 2002 and is now visible again from Marina Bay.

The Formula 1 Marina Bay Street Circuit has been running over the Esplanade Bridge since 2008 .

In 2015, a pedestrian bridge was opened right next to the bridge (east), the so-called Jubilee Bridge - based on the country's 50 years of independence. It runs from Merlion Park to the Esplanade and is primarily intended to make it easier for tourists to cross the Singapore River.
