Ettore Spalletti

Ettore Spalletti (born January 26, 1940 in Cappelle sul Tavo ; † October 11, 2019 ) was an Italian painter and sculptor .

life and work

Ettore Spalletti was born in Cappelle sul Tavo in the province of Pescara . He lived and worked there. Spalletti worked as a sculptor with marble, wood and metal.

Ettore Spalletti's paintings can be assigned to minimalism . His color palette takes up those of the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance , by artists such as Fra Angelico and Piero della Francesca . He often positioned his paintings in such a way that they are perceived as three-dimensional works. Ettore Spalletti's painterly work captivates with its clarity and simplicity.

In 1982 and 1992 he was involved in the Kassel documenta , in 1982, 1993, 1995, 1997 in the Venetian Biennale , then in 1991 in the Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris , in 1993 in the New York Guggenheim , 1995 in the Antwerp Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst , 1998–99 at the Strasbourg Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain , 1999 at the Neapolitan Museo di Capodimonte and 2005 at the Henry Moore Foundation in Leeds. In 2014 he opened exhibitions in Rome , Turin and Naples .
