Etwatwa ( isiZulu ) is an administrative part of the metropolitan municipality of Ekurhuleni in the South African province of Gauteng .
geography
2011 had about 151,866 inhabitants. The district is located northeast of the Daveyton township settlement and south of the Sentrarand marshalling yard . To the east is the border with Mpumalanga Province .
history
About was founded as a township settlement in the 20th century. In the 1980s, the population increased rapidly, although there was hardly any infrastructure.
traffic
The National Route 12 continues south past Etwatwa. A railway line runs through Etwatwa without stopping to the Sentrarand marshalling yard.
