The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is a metropolitan municipality , in the region East Rand in the province of Gauteng in South Africa is. The name Ekurhuleni means "place of peace" in Xitsonga . Ekurhuleni is headquartered in Germiston . In 2016, 3,379,104 people lived in 1,299,490 households in the metropolitan municipality.
