Eugène Georges Joseph Lecrosnier (born April 20, 1923 in Maupertuis , † October 15, 2013 in Coutances ) was Bishop of Belfort-Montbéliard .

Life

Eugène Lecrosnier studied philosophy and theology at the seminary in Coutances and received on December 20, 1947 ordination . From 1947 to 1949 he studied social sciences at the Institut Catholique de Paris . He was active in pastoral care in Cherbourg (1949–1953). He was also chaplain of the Action catholique ouvrière (ACO) . On February 1, 1962, he was appointed Vicar General and Archdeacon of Cherbourg.

Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 21, 1969 auxiliary bishop in Chambéry and titular bishop of San Leone . The Archbishop of Chambéry André-Georges Bontems consecrated him on June 21 of the same year as bishop ; Co - consecrators were Louis-Jean-Frédéric Guyot , Archbishop of Toulouse , and Joseph Gustave François Wicquart , Bishop of Coutances-Avranches .

On November 3, 1979, he was appointed first Bishop of Belfort - Montbéliard by Pope John Paul II . On March 1, 2000, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.

In the Bishops' Conference of France he was responsible for international relations, especially in Africa and Latin America.
