Eugen Helfrich

Eugen Helfrich (born May 25, 1894 in Frankfurt am Main ; † March 18, 1968 ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament and mayor of Frankfurt am Main.

Life

Eugen Helfrich passed his Abitur in Montabaur in 1914 and studied law in Tübingen and Frankfurt am Main. In 1914 he became a member of the Catholic student associations AV Guestfalia Tübingen , later also the KDStV Hasso-Nassovia Frankfurt am Main and the KDSt.V. Greiffenstein (Breslau) to Frankfurt am Main. After completing his studies in 1920 with the legal traineeship and in 1924 with the major state examination, he worked as a lawyer from 1924 and as a notary in Frankfurt am Main from 1930 . From 1940 to 1945 he did military service as an officer at Wehrbezirkskommando 1 in Frankfurt am Main.

From 1946 to 1948 Eugen Helfrich was mayor of Frankfurt am Main. His successor as mayor was Walter Leiske .

From December 1, 1946 to November 30, 1950 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament and in 1949 a member of the 1st Federal Assembly .

In 1955, he was from Cardinal Grand Master Nicola Cardinal Canali Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem appointed and in December 18, 1955 Cologne Cathedral by Governor Franz zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck and Lawrence Jaeger invested, Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy.
