Eugene Rückle

Eugen Rückle (* July 20, 1876 in Barmen (today a district of Wuppertal ), † September 15, 1950 in Unkel ) was a German architect and municipal building officer . Many of its preserved structures are protected as architectural monuments.

Live and act

On June 16, 1902, Rückle entered the service of the city of Barmen. On August 4, 1911 he was appointed city ​​architect with civil service status . Under the direction of urban planning inspector Paul Freygang , he and his colleagues Julius Dicke , Wilhelm Huxhold and Richard Fischer were entrusted with numerous urban building construction projects. He interrupted his involvement in the construction management of the town hall in Barmen in 1915 when he was a soldier in the First World War . From 1924 he was appointed city ​​planning director and remained in this position until his voluntary retirement on July 1, 1934. From 1935 he worked as a freelance architect, from November 1937 to February 1945 he worked as an office manager at Peter Klotzbach .

Rückle died during a trip in Unkel. He lived in the house at Am Nordpark 8, which is now a listed building . His son Wolf Rückle (* 1908) was also an architect in Wuppertal.

From 1919 on, Rückle devoted himself to residential construction; He was involved in numerous settlements and neighborhoods, including the Sedansberg settlement, the Waldhof settlement (1928), the NEBBreck settlement, the Auf dem Brahm settlement (1926), the Werloh settlement, the Clausen settlement and other municipal buildings
